Tremolo question

I don't own one, but my gut tells me that I'd put it in the same area where I put envelope filters. After effects that need a clean signal for tracking, namely analog octaves. After overdrives, distortions, fuzzes, etc. Before modulation effects like chorus, flanger, phaser, etc. Before reverbs, delays, etc. Its relationship to compression would be tricky. If you wanted a "wider" sounding tremolo effect I'd put it after compression. If you wanted the effect to be reigned in a bit so as not to get too wild, I'd put it before compression.
