Tricked Out Squier Club Part 2

Surferjoe, you don't agree that drilling out the small holes for larger tuners won't angle the strings towards the bottom of the head behind the nut? If they run straight at the 3/8 barrel and the same center is used for a 1/2 barrel, the strings will angle 1/16 to the right. Not a lot, but noticable and I'm picky. I don't get what you meant saying my post is untrue. 
-I hate them; true.
-Nut-barrel angle; true.
-IMHO bass needs big tuners; true, IMHO.
-DR strings broke; true.
- flats: I was worried they'd snap when I indexed at the barrel. And the e was difficult to get straight.

Well --- 'hate' is such a terminal word - but disliking them is OK for me. I just like the look of the massive amount of chrome on the headstock, and the toy machines look so - er: wimpy to me.

OK - it's not too late in the day for me to try to understand this. As usual, I'm confused a tad here.
IF you were to drill for the new, larger tuners, why would they change angle?
Keeping the same drilling angle for the larger holes as indexed from the existing holes - shouldn't move the angle from perpendicular to the face of the headstock as it currently is I feel.
It's a little late, but I can fix a pot of coffee and try to reason this out if we agree to take this to another level.

The center of the barrel will change position with relation to the epicenter because of the new diameter huh?
I don't think it's make a fig of a difference and even the MOST anal person (not that you are) would be extremely hard pressed to see the minute amount of change.
Back to Doc Martin.
I like it for the treble boost. It was a pretty cheap preamp I got off of ebay. I love the double precision pus though.
Edit: the middle knob is concentric, didn't have the knobs when I took the picture.
SurferJoe, I am anal about some things, but not everything. This particular subject which we are discussing would be one of the few; an inline headstock with the strings all slightly canted south would freak me out! LOL!
OK - let's ramp this up a little.

That would look weird... I have a particular aversion to P's and J's where the E string doesn't pass in parallel to the A from the nut to the post.
You can have one made at chandler music. Go to the site and see how to order. Tons of material options too. A little slow though IME, YMMV.

i think i might make it into a deluxe, i have my eye on a fender mia deluxe wiring harness. strip it down and go natural.
i have used citristrip in the past to strip paint and clear coat, but i found it to be very messy. what else are people doing?

I'd bet that the finish on the MIM will laugh at Citri-Strip. Feel free to try it - but others have said it works as good as cold water.
when i used it last, it was on a early 90s MIK squier. it worked once i stopped messing with it and let the citristrip work its thing.
any other suggestions besides good 'ol sanding?
On furniture I use "Circa 1840" stripper it works great. I don't know if it's available in the USA, so that may not help you. Check a shop that refinishes furniture. They use good stuff that works fast.

im hoping not to have order anything. ill check out my hardware store and see what is available.
ill want to get some heavy duty stuff, if the poly is as thick as i think it is.
