Thanks. Ive tried a peavey neck, which fit ok, but decided to put that bass back together to sell. Then i tried a no name "fender spec" japan neck, but that was way off. The body is 2005, the neck is new, 2018 i think. Both from indonesia. Neck should be arriving soon, so ill find out then!

Update, did not fit
A little gap in the pocket, which i could have lived with. But the screw holes didnt line up; i just cant bring myself to redrill holes on a brand new neck. On the plus side, seeing the 2 necks side by side, i realize my affinity neck is a good one!

I guess ill have to live with just a new pickguard, pots,cap, jack, pickups and bridge

Unless your endgame is to sell the bass - adapting a neck to fit your bass should be considered something that will result in an instrument you will play and enjoy. Gaps can be shimmed, non-aligning holes can be plugged and new holes drilled - it isn't like it's precious. The concept of modifying your instrument is based on making it yours so that you have something exactly the way you would like it.

Totally agree! I am not shy to do a little wood work. But...
In this instance i paid just as much for the replacement neck as i did for the bass. I was hoping for an upgrade, going affinity to VM; but comparing the necks, they were close enough in quality that i decided to exercise my return policy and pocket that cash for something else.

Ok - I understand. A neck is the part of a bass (other than the pu's/sound) that most bond one with their instrument. If the old neck felt every bit as good as the new neck - case closed.

My trusty old 2008 CV Jazz with a set of Bill Lawrence J45s and a Babicz FCH Bridge. I love how low I can get the action now after installing the FCH Bridge. Currently has GHS Pressurewounds as well.

I assembled it last night and a friend talked me into selling it to him this morning haha! I'll build a Frankenstein out of the vm jazz Body and a mexican j rosewood neck next :-D

VM P5 neck on a VM J5 body. Audere pre, Wilkinson pickups.

Older Squier Standard body and pickups, Allparts bound and blocked neck, cheap black pearl guard, vol-blend-tone controls, aftermarket bridge and a neat but undefinable Wal Mart blue green color.

Sorry if this is a repost, but I can't seem to locate my original post about my Squier...

So here it is...

The specs:
2015 Squier by Fender Affinity Jazz Bass.
Full shielding job. Cavities, pickguard housings etc...
Vintage Modified Duncan Designed pickups.
Classic Vibe 60s high mass bridge.
CTS caps and pots. (OE died after failed solder job installing the pickups).
Stratosphere pickuguard with a fairly liberal amount of dremel work to make it fit nicely.
Beer bottle flip cap gasket strap locks.
Guild ballglove leather strap.

Just wrapped up my 2005 affinity mod. New pots, cap, jack (which have been in a while) but tonight added white pearl guard and a new gotoh 201 bridge. I tried to install an emg phz, but ran into some road blocks, so that'll wait til later. Also sheilded with copper tape. Im real pleased!

I found everything i needed on youtube, but i really had to piece it together bit by bit. I would love to see an all-in-one, how-to video.
