can happen....order a US version and specify alder.....Love all my Laklands (US and Skylines). I do kinda wish they made an alder-bodied passive 5 string (I am not complaining!).

I know. you ain't complainingWhat I meant was...I wish you could get an alder body on a Skyline. Love my US Osborn bass, trust me, I ain't complaining!
I currently own 5-
55-02
55-02 Deluxe fretless
Skyline AJ5
Skyline Joe Osborne
Skyline Duck Dunn (with flats)
I'm itching for a USA 55-94 or 55-14, but I love what I have so much, I have a hard time justifying not as much the money, but the simple fact of letting any of these go.
As said before, the necks are what makes them special, but they all nail the tones I'm looking for
Beautiful...Totally agree that Lakland necks are the best... Hell i think they are the best basses. Love my Skyline 5564 and US 5594D

Man, that makes me miss my 55-64!
Cheese..I told you to keep it....Maybe I will bring mine to the Lakland GTG and let you play it.....not rubbing it in but.... (can you tell I LOVE mine!?)
At the time it seemed to make sense. At least I have a DJ5 on the way.
A DJ 5 is uber cool!!!! you will enjoy that....
Which do you want to try?
LOG bass with vintage pickups
US PJ with Nordy pickups
US PJ with vintage pickups? (White lightnin'...in my avatar)
that will help me decide what to bring
OK, I repent re: the DJ4. I just received this 8 pound 2004 beauty from a fine TBer in Maine. It is the most incredible jazz bass ever. I'm in love.

I like the red/maple. IMHO they should change the color choices on the DJs more frequently. It seems like the current charcoal silver has been dominant for quite a while, along with the blue and white alternatives, but I have only seen maple with the white body. I like the Ric method of having a few stable, classic colors and 1 new, temporary color each year. Loves me my DJ5, in spades, with a cherry on top![]()

Ah, CAR with a maple board! Nice choice, I have one as well.
It may interest you to know that there are just a few of these. When I got mine I asked about it and the response I got from Lakland was that they did (maybe) 30 in CAR and of those 10 with a maple board.
