Tried a Lakland

I currently own 5-
55-02
55-02 Deluxe fretless
Skyline AJ5
Skyline Joe Osborne
Skyline Duck Dunn (with flats)

I'm itching for a USA 55-94 or 55-14, but I love what I have so much, I have a hard time justifying not as much the money, but the simple fact of letting any of these go.

As said before, the necks are what makes them special, but they all nail the tones I'm looking for

wow!!! did not realize you had 5!!!! sweet collection there man!!! rep'd...

OK, I repent re: the DJ4. I just received this 8 pound 2004 beauty from a fine TBer in Maine. It is the most incredible jazz bass ever. I'm in love.

I like the red/maple. IMHO they should change the color choices on the DJs more frequently. It seems like the current charcoal silver has been dominant for quite a while, along with the blue and white alternatives, but I have only seen maple with the white body. I like the Ric method of having a few stable, classic colors and 1 new, temporary color each year. Loves me my DJ5, in spades, with a cherry on top :-)

I just put TI Jazz Flats back on my 55-94 - they just sound SO good. I used the bass at church yesterday and they worked well with all kinds of music - Sonny Rollins St Thomas, Henry Mancini Peter Gunn, kind of a disco tune, a full-on rock, ballad (fun one - one bar of 3 followed by one bar of 4 for much of the song).

I'm glad I put them back on.

Ah, CAR with a maple board! Nice choice, I have one as well.

It may interest you to know that there are just a few of these. When I got mine I asked about it and the response I got from Lakland was that they did (maybe) 30 in CAR and of those 10 with a maple board.

Cool! That's what Bglosh said too.

Where did you get your MOTS guard? Looks great.
