Tring to find a Squier Standard P Bass Special in Pweter ???

I made a few calls tring to find a Squier Standard P Bass Special in in the gray matt pweter color and of the calls I made no one has one in-stock (called GC and MF ) and they were not sure when they would have them back in-stock.

Anyone know of a dealer that has them in-stock ???

I did check eBay and the bass' F/S here and didnt see any.

If anyone here wants to unload a used one I might be interested as well,,, message me if you have one to sell.

if you're really after that color you should find a nice cheap squier that plays nice, and get it refinished.

as opposed to buying a bass for the color, which is IMHO unwise

Getting a Squire refinnished might cost more than the Squire itself,, but if I found one that played super nice, who knows.

As far as buying bass'ed on color,,, color is always plays a big part when Im looking at anything,, be it a new car/truck, or audio/video gear or anything.

Why,,, most of the reviews of the bass are very positive.

Yep,, I had called MF last week and they be sold out of the pewter gray ones,,, you must have got one of the last ones,,,, they even told me that model was dis-continued.



But, the good news, I got one shipped out today from Elderly,,,,,, very much looking forward to gettng it !!!

Pewter and Sherwood Green are two finishes that were discontinued quite a while ago.

I remember seeing both in some of the old Squier Club threads.

I e-mailed Jeff Krause at Fender CS and was informed that the Pewter was definately discontinued, so used or a dusty cornein some dealer's shop is our only source I guess.

Interesting,,,, I have a thrasher Afinity P Bass and that thing is very light,,, my Fender Jazz AeroDyne is kinda heavy,,, I wonder if the P Bass Special will fall somewhere in-between,,,, I just hope it aint as heavy as my AeroDyne or my Epi Les Paul bass.

Just an FYI - If your local GC is out of an item, they will order it shipped from a store that does have it. You have to ask them about it. They could have found one in Houston and shipped it to Nevada for you.

Yes,, I will make sure to do that next time around, my local GC did not have one and then I went home and called the GC 1-800 number and they told me all out of stock and dis-continued,,,, I totally forgot to ask my local store about any other locations that might have had one,,, I guess the 1-800 people dont look at whats in stock at their stores nationwide but only what they have in stock at their online/wharehouse facility.

Yes,, I hope I enjoy the bass,, buying it sight un-seen and un-played,,,,, I got my finger's crossed.
