How do Monster Cables ruin a jack? I use one (it was given to me by a guitarist not too long ago. Seems quite durable), and now I'm concerned.

Many of the older Monster Cables ends were sized just slightly too big. They would stretch out and sometimes ruin input jacks on basses, pedals, amps, etc.

They seem to be slightly oversized, which wears out the jack.

Sanding the back of my basses neck

before installing my new warmoth neck, I sanded the back of my stock MIM j bass neck and loved the feel of it- however, ive heard that maple (especially on a cheap bass neck) will warp without some type of finish/coating.

thoughts?
