Trouble bending strings

Alright, thanks.

I will spend some time with these and see how much I miss bending and make my call based on that.

I mainly wanted to know whether it's got something to do with the setup or some defect in the bass while it's still within the exchange window.

I play that particular run in N.I.B. with a slide. Sounds cool too. Try it!!

Yes! I did try that option, but when I discovered the strings wouldn't bend, I wanted to get the probable cause of bad setup out of the way.

Heavier strings are going to be harder to bend. I do not know who thinks otherwise.

Thought I might do a follow up here. In celebration of having bought Sabbath tickets today, I downtuned to (B)C#F#BE and the bending problem has gone away

Turned up Lows all the way up on the bass and the amp, highs about 60% on the amp and mids all the way up on the amp (flicking the mid range frequency boost switch either way sounds great on the SR505) and man I'm loving this thing I've got going on.

Yes bending bass strings more than a semitones in standard tuning is tough. I believe it's why Sheehan has his upper fretboard scalloped.

Scallop Fretboard sounds interesting. Never paid attention to these things until I started playing myself.
