Trouble holding on to pick - what to do?

I have the same problem. I just don't play with a pick enough. It's just that simple

Nah, pretty sure he's alluding to the 'don't use a pick' response.
Practice, practice, practice. Eventually your fingers figure it out. Don't hold it too hard, that actually makes it worse. Just chill, you'll get there.

JAY's a pretty good bassist. He probably just needs a couple of those tennis balls squeezers or hand spring deals to beef the grip.

You could always go for the super sex route. Get a michael jackson glove and rivet a pick between the thumb and index finger. Its an instant fix and everybody can make fun of the sexy glove... Sequins and all... Might start a whole craze nation wide... I can think of all sorts of places I'd scratch with a pick if I used one...

they make something called gorilla snot for this ish...

but i haven't ever used it...
i hold a pick between my thumb and first finger... and then squeeze
no pick loss for me... but just in case i keep back ups on my amp head

I had the same problem with Fender picks and I switched to Dunlop Tortex and the difference was amazing. The Tortex ones don't move around in my hand at all. I use the 0.73 mm yellows.

Definitely don't grip the pick tighter as this will also tighten the other muscles in your hand, wrist, and forearm and could lead to repetitive stress injury.
