Mike N - you paid a hefty premium for that wonderful motor, and the diesel is more expensive per gallon than the gassssssss. Tell me when it pays for itself...
The "I'm saving money" argument doesn't work. Drive a truck if you like driving a truck. It's perfectly ok <c:
Diesel pickups only save $$ when they run all day every day. Commercial use.
Better late than never to respond.....
In all reality I didn't pay a premium for that diesel truck. It was a case of being in the right place at the right time and I'd rather be lucky than good. I bought that truck for $4000, which is about half of what it was worth and about the same as a gas powered truck would have cost me. In fact. I paid $1000 more for the two year newer gas powered crew cab I bought for my wife a few months later.
The savings for me were instant..... with the amount of towing and plowing snow that I do, I should have bought a diesel sooner.
