true giant monster rigs

where ? who ? pics? id love to see it. i may get ideas for a new rig  i remember van halen and the dead's bassists having more speakers, but "its been awhile"

Any clown can rent dozens of Ampeg 8x10's for show or throw empty ones on an arena stage.

I think your rig would blow most of our heads off.

Can you still hear?;):D I hope to hell you wear earplugs in front of that monster!:bassist:

I was going to post a picture of my headphones for a giggle :D, but I could not figure how to upload on the sight oh well. I to wish I owned a monster rig like that and had a band as great as Staind. I did used to own two 70's era SVT's 8x10's in the 80's and they rocked, nothing nearly as narly as this though. I would still have them if they did not get stolen and now I be poor.:bassist:

Staindbass, that rig is absolutely amazing!

Did you buy/recieve all of those at once or did you build it all up over time?

Do you ever really use your 4-pro for anything anymore?

I thought I had a fairly big rig, just running an Ampeg 4PRO into the svt-610hlf plus the ampeg b1-re running into a custom 1x15 cab.

Which I guess in comparison, they would just about equal the same if you include rig to fan number ratio. ha ha.

What kind of rig were you playing when you were loading your own stuff on tour every night?

Either way man, that rig is absolutely amazing, I'd love to have something even close to that.

How long have you had it?

:bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

Damn! I used to run a pair of Peavey 415 subs (read eight fifteen inch drivers) powered by a rack of Carver PM1200s in the early nineties, but that's awsome!

Why is it that somebodies always gotta run the "overkill" line and then ten posts later ask why their XYZ 10" combo amp won't cut it at a gig? The only people that truly oppose overkill are usually the ones who can't or don't have access to such stuff. "If I can't have it, it must be stupid". Geeze! Let go of your anger and enjoy the excess! Even if it is vicariously!

FWIW I often ended up using just one of the cabs but between a two decent preamps and new strings on a weekly basis I had a tone that I loved, although I now wonder how much high end I might have been missing out on.

Nice rig though. I'll definetely watch for the next show coming through my area!

Is that 22 SVTs and 136 10" speakers?

Its a fake wall. If you look closely, you can see how akward some of the "speakers" are.

Example..is EVH, that video for fender, he jumps up against a wall of marshall cabs right?..yet the whole almost topples over like its one big slim cardboard box..which it is....

Sorry to spoil the fun...its a collapsable art background...

Now...if someone made a stage looking like the deathstar...Im all there!:bassist:, so long as I get to dress as a tie fighter pilot.:hiding:

Jonny A...I'm not trying to steal your thunder (so to speak), I just LOVE giant rigs! I never bought into the whole light-weight mini-rig thing and can appreciate a man who loves an ass-load of speakers behind him!

Actually they're real...at the KISS/Aerosmith concert in Cincy a few years ago I was able to check out Gene's setup and it's definitely real 8x10's. Not all of them are used, but real nonetheless.
