True "Yellow" Fender?

Most likely it was natural (wood) and the pic makes it look yellow. Everyone was stripping the finishes off their instruments back then. The lack of the pg further hints at a stripped finish.

Well, I did not know that... so it's the only known example of a P w/that colour? I've seen same years Strats in Monaco Yellow for sale. Regardless, it's very nice and would still make me smile if I saw it played at a sunny afternoon outdoor festival. (they do have sun occasionally in Cornwall?) ;)

Hi JIO pleased to meet you. Yes this is the P-Bass version of the Monaco yellow international series, the serials say 79yes. These were made one year only 1980-81 and were issued as a special model with very small numbers of units in Maui Blue, Capri Orange, Sahara Brown, Morocco Red, Monaco yellow, Arctic White and Cathay Ebony.
Monaco yellow Strats and Teles are both known to exist but are very rare guitars. Some of the other colours have surfaced in a P-Bass but this is the only known Monaco Yellow P-Bass certainly in any rare and vintage guitar collecting circles and businesses that I've moved in. Obviously a Strat or Tele is the commonest, there was a Strat in Monaco yellow in a shop in Denmark street London, still very rare but the P-Bass many times more so, I made a whole youtube video about that yellow bass, which belongs to a friend of mine, it is many times rarer than most pre-CBS fenders. Me posting photos of it here is like proving the existence of Bigfoot, or the Loch Ness monster. When you're acquainted with a bass of this rarity you are struck by this, I've grown up around vintage guitars and it IS a very special object, almost magical in fact. That's why it's hardly had any play at all in over 30 years, and trust me on it being a quality stick, beautifully playable but, to scratch it would be just, unthinkable. hummm… this looks like it could be a Monaco Yellow P-bass, but it's apparently made in '83. Ricky Simon (above) said they were only made 1980-81. A leftover body w/an '83 neck? It appears to have "yellowed" over time (the shot w/the pg removed) but it still looks more yellow than white.

I looked at it again and it is just very yellowed (clear coat) and may have started out off-white. The Monaco Yellow is a much richer yellow.
