Truss rod adjuster for Taylor / Klein ABG?

Hi friends,

My Taylor / Klein ABG has a weird truss rod adjuster, and none of my socket wrenches can fit in the tiny-tight space that it resides (see photo).

Any and all helpful advice on what tool to buy at my local hardware store (or a direct link to where it is on Amazon) to be able to adjust it is much appreciated. Thanks everyone.

This needs an actual truss rod wrench. These are ground to be much thinner than sockets. Lots of options available once you verify the size of the nut with some calipers (unless you want to buy multiple sizes for future jobs).

I dunno......I'd look at a 1/4 drive deep socket and be prepared to shave it down on the grinder. It kinda looks like you have some room, I might even start with a shaved down hand wrench (using the closed end ideally).

I had a bass with a similar situation (with an uncommon 7mm nut) and I had luck with an off the shelf wrench like this:

They tend to have low profile walls to begin with.

If it's 5/16" it can take a Gibson truss rod wrench.

I've had more luck with the closed-end wrenches (above) than I have with conventional "hash pipes".

that takes the same 1/4" thin wall socket wrench that all other taylors take; just about any "luthier tools" place will sell them
