I am trying to figure out the correct part number for a replacement truss rod nut for a Fender 2008 Am Std P.
The hex wrench size included with the case candy, as well as the current nut, is 3/16" which matches the fender serial lookup.
I ordered Part No. 0038454049 which is a 3/16" bass truss rod nut, but when it arrived, both the barrel itself and the threaded hole are too small.
I see that there is a Part No. 0038443000 which most 3rd party sites say is a 5/16" truss rod nut. This part is not found on fender.com in the US but if I change regions I see a listing for this part on their site saying that it is 3/16" hex.
I'm speculating that maybe they switched this truss rod nut form 3/16" to 5/16" at some point since they were stripping too easily, and that the threaded side would be correct? But I am not sure.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
