Double Bass Trying to determine age of a DB

The seller is blatantly lying to you about the age of the bass, and you believe what they say about construction methods?

He has not said anything about the age. He believes it is an old bass. It is my impression that it is fairly old, but you guys have convinced me that this is a "new" model. What might it be worth?

I have checked all the photos. It /may/ look like a new-ish bass that's been made to look old, but it's very hard to tell just from the photos.

More and more convinced that this is a new one. The fingerboard has some coloring and does not look as a f/b that has some age to it.

You really need to get it checked out by a bass luthier to find out what it needs and what it may be worth. You can get a decent new Chinese ply at String Emporium <$1500, I believe. Shens around $1600. These will be all set up, too, if bought at a good shop.
