Trying to Remeber...

A few years back I remember seeing this weird little plastic bass. The string I remember to be like rubber bands, I think they are actually nylon tho.
I have look on the internet for this, but it has been a hard search not knowing who made it of what it is called. Just looking for a pic. So if someone knows what I'm talking about, help me out.

I'm kinda interested in buying one for fun, if the price is right.

A flashback!

I remember playing one in late 80's or early 90's in a music store and allthough an innovative design, I wasn't too impressed about the quality or the playability.

The price was also way too high IIRC.

I recently ran into the reissue in Musikhouse Thomanns web pages and actually thought about buying one, but didn't, and now they don't sell 'em anymore. Well some day I get one, when the price is right

I just looked them up on ebay. i found them for 279.96 plus shipping. Not to bad i guess. Wonder what it sounds like.

The bassist with Dread Zepplin used an Ashbory, a custom one cut in the shape of a ukelele. He played it down around his knees while wearing nothing but a grass skirt and lei.
