Tube Amp Current?

I've got a SVP-PRO preamp(tubes) and a XTi-1000 power amp, all running off of a juice goose junior.
I've heard that Tube amps have a constant draw of energy and aren't effecient... where as solid state amps only draw power according to the amount required by the input signal... so my question is, does that apply to my tube preamp? would it use up alot of current just to warm it up and keep it on?

You've heard wrong. A s/s Class A/B is only slightly more efficient than than a Class A/B tube amp. A tube amp must supply a small, constant, low voltage current to its tube heaters and that is the difference. You preamp should have its power consumption lisited on the back. So long as you don't let that wattage rating exceed what your power conditioner can deliver, you'll be fine.

Your power amp is a MUCH larger cause for concern, BTW. Switching supply amps require vast amounts of wall current under stress and it's a LOT more likley to pop your conditioner's fuse/breaker than the preamp.
