Tube buffer from Effectrode?

Was just looking at the effectrode site and came across this

Glass-A Triode Buffer for Guitar- Effectrode

A proper 300v tube pedal that you can mount below your board for under $300 is definitely interesting!

I wonder how this stands up to the Sushibox More or the nightowl Edison.

Anyone tried one?

What do you do when this vintage Tube goes...'pop'...?
Are they easy to come by?
How much are they?
Will a different tube sound differently and/or do the job in any way differently?
Will one like how this new tube does the job as well as one did when the original tube did it?

I love Effectrode gear, and I own 3 of their pedals, but I have not tried their tube buffer. Its functionality reminds me of the Sarno Black Box, which I used to own and liked very much. They both pump 300 volts through a tube, act as buffers/tone sweeteners, are built for hi-fidelity, and have great reputations. The Black Box uses AC power, a 12AX7 tube (common) and is bigger (built like a tank). The Effectrode uses 12VDC power, a Sylvania 6111 pencil tube (uncommon), and is smaller. If the goal is to keep it under a pedal board, that would probably rule out the larger Black Box.

I too am interested to hear what users of the Effectrode have to say.
