Anybody ever change the preamp tube on an Ampeg BA300?

My church has one that has been crackling and hissing for a few weeks now. I'm thinking that a tube change should be a simple process and I want to try that first before taking it to a shop and having to pay out. Already have the new tube, just looking for some tips or "easiest way" type advice before tearing the whole thing apart myself.

Thanks.

Any experience opening it up? I've changed tubes before, so it's not the actual tube part that worries me. But there's a bunch of screws on the back and sides of that thing and no obvious ones that open an access to the electronics that I can tell.

My BA amps all have screws around the sides that hold the amp in. Unscrew them and the amp should slide up and out enough to get at the tube. Preamp tube changes are dead simple and anyone can do them, and I agree that it's probably time to change yours.

Thanks! That was my guess after looking at the amp again.

BTW, I got a PF-800 not too long ago based on some of your recommendation that I read while doing my research. You were dead right about that amp! And it pairs great with my Darkglass VMTD and into my 610 HLF. I've gotten some killer tones out of that setup.
