Tube stack for arena rock band!

im looking to buy a stack of 4 810s with tube heads. Mesa M6 carbine heads on top?, i noticed the Fender Superbassman 300w (tube power amp) and am interested, SVT, or Ashdowm ABM 900?

PLEASE add your comments about the difference between any of these amps so i can get your opinion on the best sounding rig for the money for a arena touring band LOUD and a few overdrive, boost, and fuzz pedals. What do you think is the ultimate rig for this setup?:bassist:

Whenever I go see The Cult, he always has two full SVT rigs behind him. One of the amps is never turned on, either that or it's power light is burned out. :) I assume it's a backup. Don't know if he runs one or both 810's but only one of them is mic'd.

That's actually a very good big show setup, and still more rock-n-roll than a lot of acts....which will use dummy cabs and in-ears.

thats funny big stage volume and only one 10" speaker is being micd, or all the bass in the house is one little xlr. maybe all we need is 2 cabs and 2 dummys. i was thinking about the mesas because they would be more reliable than 8x6550s per head

Four of these?

or these?

The Raptor is their all tube head. I don't know too much about them, but heard a smaller rig and was really impressed with the sound.

Of the amps you listed I would go with an SVT CL or SVT VR if you need to buy new. I would also strongly consider the Fender SB. If you plan on buying new, but not right now, Mesa is coming out with 2 new tubes heads that look very promising.

If used is an option, I'd be looking for an SVT-II or a Mesa 400+. Depending on whether I wanted an Ampeg tone or a Mesa tone.

Why do you need four 8X10's? Looks? The amp on stage is basically only going to be a monitor, a single 810 would suffice.

Columns of line arrays, piles of horn subs and 40,000 watts spanks any bass rig. It's just a stagr monitor...and hopefully a tone generator.
