It occurred to me tonight after grilling yet another mess of the most perfect burgers ever on my charcoal grill that the tube versus solid state argument is very much like the charcoal versus gas argument. So, in the interest of science, I'd like to know which camp folks fall into. Please vote in the poll, and post colorful commentary in the thread. As for me, I use all tube, and I use charcoal. "Yes, I like flavor." Chris
Tube = live oak/mesquite/hickory bbq smoker. SS = charcoal with some wood chips for flavor Digital modeling = microwave pizza/ramen noodles. IEM's = cup of rice and some cold water.
OMG again? Seriously :scowl: 5 points for looking for a new way to start a troll thread, -10 for doing it.
I use to be able to fry eggs off the top of the vt cos it ran hot but now I eat crispy vegetables because the as runs cool As for gas, great for sausages
I Have a few reasons why I like SUNN solid state and charcoal.... the main reason for me is not sound, it is because while very young and drunk heading to a show, I left my SUNN Coliseum head on the top of my very punk rock Cordoba. While taking a corner I heard a big thud. I pulled over and said oh crap! I can't say anything to anybody. I got to the Casaba/Casbah in the great city of Anaheim, CA. We we up after some band and before HVY DRT. I plugged that thing in and nothing was wrong. I have used nothing since but SUNN Solid state. Charcoal, burns forever and has great flavor!!
If there's one thing that TB loves, it's regurgitation of tubes versus solid state. So I say, hey, let's have fun with it! I'm an all-tube guy (I have three vintage all-tube Ampegs, 300 watt, 100 watt, 50 watt), and I much prefer charcoal briquettes over a gas BBQ. IMO, I get more flavor from charcoal (especially if it is augmented with mesquite). Playing bass through an all-tube amp and enjoying BBQ'd food. Two forms of yummy!
WHERE ARE THE HYBRIDS????? Tube pedal into SS, Weber Charcoal on weekends and Weber gas on weeknights.
It was, in bright Red, it had Grizzly Beer Stickers and Republic Stickers covering the entire hood. And the killer Corinthian leather had punk rock carving all over it
