The idea of Darkglass preamps/distortions in the bass itself sounds really awesome (I can imagine going pedalboard-less for a lot of gigs with this), but I'm curious - will this use up 9v batteries really fast?

Very nice. Did you ever notice how American and European designs differ? You can always tell them apart. Warwick, Marleaux, Tuli look nothing like Fender or Rickenbacker.

A usb connection to the bass is inevitable. eventually basses of the future will have firmware and quite a bit of capability wrapped up inside them. The idea is to give the musician as much as possible, as elegantly and user friendly as possible, while still taking it light.

Someone makes an external "fits on the strap" version, but that's even better. Though they need to offer an 18v version too.
I'm really digging the aesthetics and the finish on the Kaamos Northern Lights Edition.
And the option to have an onboard Supersymmetry, makes it that much more attractive.
I'm just curious to know what the average weights, and some other construction details are ie; chambering.

Their mission statement and style or writing smells of high prices. Probably nice basses though. I like their body design and different body wood approach.

Prices starting at 1500 Euros is hardly Fodera pricing. WHOOPS…those are the deposit prices…so in USD, somewhere between Sadowsky and Fodera pricing….
I'm deeply intrigued by the notion of thermally treated baltic birch - maybe my Lithuanian roots are showing here…but I've always enjoyed the sound of birch-ply drums, and some exposure to a Pedulla MVP turned me on to the sound of good maple, so this treated birch could be very cool.
The Northern Lights finish is gorgeous.
Can't say the body shapes do much for me, but am intrigued by the 33+" scale length, as a 5-string kind of guy.
Will keep an eye out for user reports…very interesting - best of luck to these folks!
