Tuner pedal - bright enough for bright sunlight?

Considering a new tuner pedal. I play mostly indoor and have a Korg rack tuner. about 3-4 times / year I find myself doing an outdoor event and unable to use the tuner simply because I cant see it in the bright sunlight.

Guy at the store suggests the Korg Pitchblack or maybe TC electronic.

suggestions?

I use a shure glxd pedal wireless which has a great built in tuner. Never had any issues with visibility. Check it out it's actually probably the coolest piece of gear I've gotten in the last couple years. It's rechargable and last like 16 hours per charge. All metal, not made out of cheap plastic. I tend to recharge mine in the car on the way to gigs and it's enough that I've never had the battery go dead.

Never had a problem with the Polytune mini - the older black one. I was always able to read it AND with sunglasses in pretty direct sunlight. We play this one terrace reasonably frequently in the spring if the sun is out. And I've always been fine with the Polytune.

Kewl. Thanks much for your feedback all. Looking inline I see that Korg has just released a new updated version ... Which is probably why the guy at the store was pushing the Korg, he was looking to move his inventory of older models.

Will be checking out the TC Electonic soon. We do an annual 4th of July event on a parade float, generally in the sweltering heat and bright sunlight - as well as a handfull of other outdoor setups each year. The parade is always the biggest challenge.

+1 for the Polytune II. I got the mini after my Boss Tu-2 was totally unreadable at an outdoor summer gig. Works great. Haven't tried the Tu-3 so I don't know if Boss successfully upgraded the LEDs to something usable. Mine is a Polytune II mini so there's the extra benefit that it doesn't take up much board space.

Definitely the Polytune Mini. I must have bought a dozen tuners. I gig with the Polytune2. Haven't run into a situation yet (indoors or outdoors) where I haven't been able to see it clearly - even without glasses. And my vision isn't that great to begin with. Even under ideal conditions.
