Tuners not staying in tune

Hello all - I have a Lakland Skyline 44-60 fretless with GHS flats on it, an the Hipshot licensed tuners will not stay in tune. Every day they go close to 1/4 tone flat. :hmm:

It's set up well and plays like butter but the dang thing will not stay in tune. Could it be improperly wound strings? Something else? Your thoughts and comments will be appreciated.

Two windings around each string - should it be more than that? It's the same set of strings that was on the bass when I bought it used not too long ago so I don't know yet if it will do it with other strings. I'm reluctant to put new strings on it because I don't like the sound of new strings and tuning the bass each time I pick it up is less of a problem than dealing with the fresh string sound.

If you decide to change the tuners, be aware that the Hipshot Licensed tuners are just a little bit smaller than the Hipshot ultralites. I had to dremmel the hole a little to fit a X-tender on my Skyline.
