So... took an old Ibanez junk bass and ripped the old frets off to turn it into a fretless. So far, all things considered, the process has worked out fairly well. Got to the point where I re-finished the fretboard and I used Tung oil. All good... beautiful look and I assume the finish will last a while. However. It stinks. The Tung oil just plain has a funk about it that I don't like. Is there any strawberry or cherry top-off that I can lay on top of the finish that will make my fingers smell better? It's a very subjective subject, but I just smell this Tung oil whenever I play this thing.
