Tuning Pedals

What brand / model tuning pedal do you use and why?
I'm doing a lot of practice at home in E, but playing the same stuff live in drop D.
Tuning at home isn't a problem, I use my computer. Tuning at a gig is where my gear is lacking.

+1 for the Korg Pitchblack. It's not as pricey as some of the others mentioned and certainly does the job.

My D'Addario NS MicroTuner clip-ons are convenient and inexpensive... but they don't pick up the low B very well, which is what led me to the Pitchblack.

I recognize tuning pedals are meant to be used as, yes -- pedals. But has a manufacturer thrown a microphone on one of these so that people can use them acoustically? One of my guitarist buddies agrees that it would be a nice add for those moments when you can't or don't want to plug in.

Boss TU-3w (Waza Craft). For me the blue lighting is easier to see and seems to track a hair quicker than my regular TU-3.

I keep a couple cheap clip-on tuners around for those situations or use the Clear Tune app, which works quite well.

My guess is that any microphone incorporated into an object that is going to get stepped on repeatedly; won't last long. Also, if the pedal is resting on the floor, it's too far away to pick up an acoustic signal accurately, or at all.

yeah I saw a video of a guy using a microphone plugged into a Boss tuner to tune a glass with water in it, should work fine

I use a tiny Harley Benton CPT-20 tuner pedal, that was about the cheapest tuner pedal I could get.
Wouldn't recommend it though, and probably should have spend a bit more, since it seems to tune slightly sharp.
Otherwise a nice pedal with a, despite it's size, great easy to see display.

Probably going to try my luck with another cheap mini pedal tuner, the Warwick Rocktuner PT 1 or the Nux Mini Core SE Tuner next time.

I know you would be safe with one of the Boss tuner pedals, but there are probably just as good cheaper tuner pedals, as well as more expensive better ones, out there.
