Double Bass Tuning peg broken

That's a super easy thing to fix though. Even a $5 set of round files from Harbor Freight will work fine. Don't cause yourself unnecessary pain

Beating a dead horse here, but the rivets holding the pillow blocks to the plate look like they could be aluminum. If so they would be quite easy for a reasonably skilled metalworker to remove. Getting this fixed properly might be fairly inexpensive if you could find the right guy. Cheaper than fitting new gears at least.

Oh really? Does it just come off when you loosen the strings or is it glued or nailed in? I really appreciate everyone’s help. Like I said this is all new to me

It's sometimes glued in, sometimes not, but I would leave it in place with at least one string always in tension while doing the job. You don't want to drop the soundpost!
