Tuning to all D

I had a thought awhile back to make a strange 3 string bass that was tuned to all one key. i.e. D-D-D (Drop D, normal D, and high D)

How would this play? Not really sure, just thought it would be interesting and different.

If it is a 3 stringer, I'd tune it to Low DGC. It would give you some notes to play below the normal open tuned E on the low string and put the E on a fret.

Although I didn't get the idea from either of those bands, I have been getting into morphine lately.

I might try that tuning if/when I get it built but would still like to know how the all one note would sound/play.

You wouldn't be able to play a scale without having to shift several positions at a time.

Tuned my bass to Low E on all strings. FLOPPY but it worked. Very interesting stuff.

I'll try the DGCF tuning on my other bass and see how I like that. Is that low D to high F and the C like on a six stringer?
