who the shag uses F# standard or F#0 B0 E1 A1 D2 G2 and what strings would you use for that

Did it a few of years ago, mainly because I had a couple of 6ers at the time.

I used Rotosound Swing 66 Stainless Steels .175T .130 .105 .080 .065 .045. Then I changed some to .175T .130 .105 .080 .055 .035 cause the high strings were felt too tight tensions compared to the lower ones.

But eventually I went back to B standard about a half year later since the tuning wasn't working for me. I rarely used the F#0 string cause it produced weird overtones which were more pronounced than the fundamentals, even on the higher frets of the 5th through 12th which I intended to use more, so then it felt useless having it on.

Then I decided to defret that bass, so it would be more useful as I could have a fretted and a fretless 6ers.

I saw a photo of the Rotosound .175, it seemed to have a too-long tapered section, that would cause inharmonicity. The new D'Addario .175 might be good. It's worth trying some different brands of F#0 as they vary so much in tone quality, Kalium Strings are apparently very good.

is this bad for a tapered string

Looks just ok, it seems to be about an inch of taper in the vibrating length.
