I have an old yorkville 15-inch bass combo without the amp portion.
I would like to remove the 1/4-in. cable that provided the line out from the head to the speaker and replace it with an input jack.
The cable is connected to the speaker and plugged into the head. It has no slack for me to use it with any other head. The jack would make this a nice 15-in. cab.
As usual with yorkville, the speaker is still great.
This is kind of an introductory project and, while it would be a sad day, it doesn't really matter if I kill the old boy, so its a good project to practice with.
Anyone have suggestions on how to go about learning this? I'm thinking, in a nutshell, some basic cutting and soldering should do the trick.
A list of required parts would be helpful.
Suggestions on how to delicately open the back of the cab would be nice, too.
Thanks to all. This actually should be kinda fun.
