Turser Corvette copy ...Help?

Hi folks
I just picked up a used Jay Turser copy of a Warwick Corvette 4 string....all in all seems pretty nice, especially for the $$$ ( I paid $127 shipped )....finish is a bit rough in spots, but everything works....
Anyway, the pickups look like Fender Jazz pu's.....output is not to strong, especially compared to the Alnicos in my late model Squier P bass Special......Any suggestions for an INEXPENSIVE set of pu's, either used or new that will fit and give me a bit more ooomph?

Its possible that you could find a pair of used MIA Fender J pickups on ebay for under $40.

One other thing...The MIA Fender pickups are of different sizes. Of the two pickups the bridge pickup is a bit longer than the other. You may want to measure your pickup routes before buying to be sure the replacements will fit. The other alternative would be to remove some wood within the route.
