twinjet's night at the lodge

Went to their site. $17.00 for a Salmon sandwich? It was caught two miles away. :meh:

ENTREES

Alaskan Expedition- $59.00
Fresh Alaska salmon, bacon wrapped caribou medallion, and Alaskan king crab. Loaded mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a starter of a house salad with choice of dressing.

Kodiak Caribou- $30.00
Two grilled bacon wrapped caribou medallions with bourbon sauce, potato of the day, seasonal vegetables, and a starter of a house salad with choice of dressing.

I would have done the Kodiak Caribou. drool

Oh ya, love the gig report.

$60 for King Crab, salmon, local veggies, & I get to taste caribou? Done deal for me, especially when a salmon sandwich is $17, & fish 'n chips $28.

Obligatory food shot for @dbase . Halibut and chips -- $28, normally! Glad I got it gratis.

Thanks for checking it out. Be ready for a second gig report -- waiting on some pictures!

With those prices I guess they must still have that gold rush going on up there. ;)

The 21st century Alaska gold rush is the TOURISTS!

@twinjet excellent report! And excellent scenery! I'm proud to be a lifelong Alaskan. Surprised that our tourist traps in town are about half the price of your fish and chips, crab, etc. But great gig, great music, great share! Thanks!

Hey gang,
It was a busy weekend for me -- I spent a day in Cooper Landing, AK, which is a small town along the Kenai river. Here, fishermen, adventurers and hippies gather at a cozy little area called Gwin's Lodge. This was my first of two consecutive gigs with local folk-rock group Blackwater Railroad Company.

Here's a few pictures of the drive down the scenic Seward Highway. Man, I love me some mountains.

Finally, time to get down to business. Tonight's rig is, as usual, my '89 G&L L-2000 through a GK MB210-II. Such a tight combination.
