You have a good point. It is a right handed world in many ways.

Working with fasteners, (including twist-ties), is I think learned. Those who are inexperienced
with mechanics often need things like "righty tighty" to remember which way to turn things.
I think it only becomes natural through familiarity. When I have to work with left hand threaded
fasteners, I often use my left hand. After working so long with right hand fasteners and my right
hand, my left hand seems to now know which way to turn the left hand fastener without thinking
about it. It's like the left and right hands seem to have mirror image abilities.

I am definitely right handed and not ambidextrous. Yet I do many things that involve using both
hands equally well, like playing an instrument. I think we all are mostly like that.
