I talked to a lawyer friend last night and he strongly advised against posting pics of the serial numbers. He agreed that there was a very small likelihood that something bad would come of it, but better safe than sorry.

There are websites where you can find VINs and it's easy to find street addresses along with mortgage information. A number stamped into a headstock would be the least of my worries.
Or letting Prince play your instrument. Heh. Just posting that you have things of value is inviting the bad guys. Super easy to find home addresses.

For clarification I bought them about 8 months apart. I got the sadowsky from a guy in Hong Kong (sorry eyeballkid!).
It looks like the lakland is sold now so the anomaly will be negated.

My buddy and I bought two Hana Mod clones (copies of variable wattage ecig devices) from different stores a few weeks apart. A few months later mine - serial number 7916 - failed, and my buddy gave me his as a replacement.
I got on with using it quite happily, even after I saw the serial - 7912.
