Two models of Peavey Max 112 combos

Does anyone know what the comparason is between the two Peavey max 112 combo bass amp models are?(soundwise)
From what I can see on the internet the one is a 35W RMS and the other is 200W. Both have 1x12inch speakers. the 200W amp has an active and passive input and a direct output whereas the 35W only has one input and no direct out. The 200W amp is about $50 cheaper, though.

I can't answer the question about how they compare sonically, but the 200W model with the top controls is the current version. There was a 40W version about 10 years ago, I can't say I've seen a 35W Max112, but it's probably not in production any more.

I might be wrong, but didn't the Max II series come out just 2-3 years ago? I've seen places that are selling the original Max with the hypervents in the 112 and 115.

I've heard the new 115, but not the 112.

I own the 200W combo, it is their new tilt back unit.
Plenty of power for practice or small jobs.

I owned the Peavey Max II combo (200 watt). Great for what it is supposed to be for the price. Tuner was a gimmick. I never used it. And I never quite "got" what the psychoacoustic (or whatever it was called) button was all about.

Lol. In what way is the tuner a "gimmick"? Simple tuner that works ok. Did they advertise it as being able to perform some kind of tuning voodoo?

I own the current 200W version. Decent little amp, gets loud enough for small gigs. Tone controls are simple but effective: the punch, mid shift and bright buttons are great. The tube emulation is ok, the psychoacoustics not so, IMO. Not sure what the charm of the older 35watt version at this point.

I've found the tuner to be very useful for tuning up between sets.
