Absolutely. I have a 2-string Hobby Lobby box bass. It's great for just jamming out without a care. I set up a live recording using a Tascam handheld recorder and playing the bass through with drum machine, playing it back live and rerecording with a cigar box guitar over the top. 1 and 2

Sometimes it's more than okay to just play simple music for the fun of it.

Two strings are the future.

The two string is fun because it makes you think differently. I usually set mine up so that the usual power chord fretting position plays the octave. This give me more range and really makes moving up and down the fret board an activity. It's a great way to break out of a creativity block.

Oh I like that! Gonna have to give it a try.

This one's a two-string slide bass, tuned G-D with a 32 inch scale. Extra bridge saddles form the nut. As others have said, the limitations are good for creativity, and after playing it, I approach my regular 4 string a bit differently.

Honestly I never touch mine. I keep it just to hang on the wall and see peoples reaction when I say I have a 2 string bass. I actually inspired a guy at my local shop to make a 2 string too
