I replaced the stock tuning keys on my GV with US Hipshot Ultralites. The only mod that was needed was that I had to drill out the fastener screw with a 3/32 bit. My only regret is that Hipshot makes a short Y key. After installing the standard Y keys, I think the shorts would be better as the would not stick out as much. Not a big deal.

The stock chrome keys:

Looks great! I'm going to order the short keys next time. I angled them on my Cirrus, I really like the look. It's not angled quite as much as the Warwick.

I am considering the purchase of a 5 String Accelerator. It has VHLs and a Winkinson bridge. I found the info page put out by Peavey but it's contradictory. The second page says the radius is 15" and the scale is 35". Two pages later is says the radius is 12" and the scale length is 34". I am beginning to think the mixed the 5er specs with the 4 string specs. Can anyone out there clear this up for me? Thank You, Larry

I can tell ya that the scale of the 5 string is 35", but i don't know the radius

Edit...I just checked one of my old Peavey "Monitor" magazines, and it says the radius is 15" for the 5 string.

There are so many idiots in my area who have no idea what the difference is between a 'Bimmer' and a 'Beamer'. They all refer to BMW automobiles as 'Beamers'. Drives me nuts. And when you explain it to them you get the 'does eyes in headlights' look. :banghead:

The first Axcelerator I bought was a 4 string. It was a great bass except I always have hated that mother of toilet seat pickguard Peavey used. The second one was a 6 string that was a very excellent bass. It had an ABM bridge and PU's that worked just fine for 6 strings. I only sold it because the Cirrus 6 is better IMO and then....there is that pickguard.

I never bought a 5 because I once had a bass with that lousy bridge and detested it. Why Peavey had to use the Wilkinson is beyond me.

Even the manual has the same contradictory info.
