I tried to make him an offer on just the body (it is maple...like I'm looking for...my favorite "yellow wood" ). He said he was receptive to selling just the body and having the shipping be less...he asked me what I'd offer. I offered him $100 shipped for the body alone...rather than offering me a counter offer he just messaged me "that is nonsense". Ah well...

He's right! A hundo for that POS makes no sense at all. You're lucky he didn't accept the offer!

What mess at the truss rod? That looks pretty much the way my firt Fury did when I bought it new in 1990. It also looks like the one I have for sale.

Someone has used a short Gibson key to adjust the TR.

With short keys the lever arm is jammed tight against the TR access opening, they also don't locate on TR securely which causes the lever arm to tilt. Weakest part of a Peavey neck is directly above the TR access, the exact spot that tilted TR lever arm is putting pressure.

Zoom in the photo of the peghead, you can clearly see the glue seam has been affected.

Along with stress fractures and crushed wood, the TR nut will likely show signs of rounding .

I saw that photo earlier.

None are Cirrus from modern memory.

Pickups appear to be just soapbars nor VFL, I could be wrong about the 4 strings but the 5 string definitely doesn't have VFLs. Gold/black and chrome knobs are another thing not normally found with Cirrus from any country.
