The US price for TIs has puzzled me for years.
As I mentioned earlier the jazz flats are cheaper than D'Addario Chromes here in Europe but a recent check has shown not by much; $2 - $3. I know TIs are imported but it's a two way street, here D'Addario, Ernie B, Fender, GHS and La Bella are imported.
If the reason was trade tariffs then all our imported strings would be affected yet they're not, with our VAT sales tax (average 20%) it's pretty much £/€ = $;
Sweetwater charge $43 for La Bella 760 FS and Thomann charge £43.
Then I look at Thomastik JF 324/344/364, £50 here but $84 to $100 from
Sweetwater.
Cynic in me can't shake the feeling that the reason you folks are expected to pay so much more is hidden behind some "they're imported" BS.
