Yes it is the blacked out patriot I put black strings on it too...it's hard to see in low light! Cool looking bass!

Well, that's a little different. That looks great. I think gold looks better on painted basses. I like black hardware the best, but that works like a charm!

The P pickup and the J pickup in it look like Dimarzios but everyone is pretty sure they were made by Schaller.

After all the years of wanting and waiting and working I finally have a dedicated jam space to hold all my basses and other misc. music stuff! I am going to have my whole Peavey bass collection all out together for a photo shoot soon. Everything is done except not quite electrified yet, hopefully done done this weekend. I figured I'd share it here first, cuz you all are my TB peeps!

Schallers were also in the Dyna Bass Unity series. I thought they were a good pickup, but I eventually swapped them out for a set of the Wilde (Bill Lawrence) P46 and J45, which I like better.

Comparing the blue T20 to the red Fury, the Fury has a smaller lighter weight body but the necks are pretty much the same and they sound is virtually the same (same pup and electrics?) I prefer the Fury.

I think the Gen 1 Fury body is one of the best body shapes in all of the bass world.
Not too big, not too small, not too pointy, not too tubby.
I think the Precision looks a bit tubby, the Jazz is too big, the Stingray looks too round, Thunderbird is just wrong on a strap, same with Explorer and Flying V, the Gibson EB upper horn is no good on a strap either.

You are right, I reeeeealIy love the looks of the Bongo.
I was shocked that they could make such an ugly bass body and approve it for production.

I agree the Guild Pilot body shape is the improved Jazz Bass body.
Sold my Pilot to a fellow in Denmark last year.
It is/was a great bass, mine was black body with a maple/maple neck, I like the looks of your clear coated body with the rosewood fretboard.

Mine is what some call the "fake" Pilot. Its a 2000 De Armond Pilot Pro. About the thinnest Jazz neck profile ever, super stable 5 piece walnut/maple. I love it!

I love the body on yours. Five piece necks are nice and stable.
My Pilot neck always felt nice, but I preferred the Peaveys a bit more.
Now I've grown to love the wide/shallow depth Yamaha Attitude necks, so the 1.5" Peaveys still feel like well finished necks but don't ring my bell the way they used to.
