Nope. I figured it out with some deductive reasoning after your comment. The other side of the jack is soldered to the back of the pot and jumpered from the tone to volume pots and also grounded to the bridge. If I had looked closer in the first place I would have seen that. Also, if you look carefully in my pic you can see the tail of the broken wire soldered to the top of the middle terminal of the volume pot. Thanks for your suggestion though. It made me look closer and figure it out on my own.

Had another look and got the rule out. Point to point the switches measure 155mm but the cavity is only 149mm.
Turning the switches won't help as the cavity would need to be wider at the ends. Simple enough to solve I'll
just lengthen and widen the 2 ends.
Any problems I run into I know who to call.

Well I opened up the T 40 from 79 too discover the switches on the T 40 from 78 are twice the size
Must have changed supplier. I'll do the work tomorrow, digging tools and 110v transformers out of
storage don't appeal today.
Flat Eric has informed me the switches on the T 40 are the wrong replacements. His info was timely as I hadn't got the router out

when a white Foundation came here for cheap. It did 10 shows in December OK except 2 venues had garbage dimmers that made it(and guitars) buzz pretty severely. New rule: unknown venue = ALWAYS bring 1 bass with humbuckers. A can of shielding paint may get used on my Foundation to see if it helps.
Got the high school's 1980's Foundation for its Christmas Break Check-up and tune up(new strings, intonation, probably donate a set of Strap Locs to it). It will get photo'ed next to the early 90's one I have AND I'll pull the rear pickups to compare Super Ferrites to the 90's one that does not have Super Ferrite stamped on the cover. We can also photo the electronics side-by-side for a compare. This post will get updated this weekend(still at work now).

I've a good start to the year.
The correct switches for the T 40 are ordered. My T 45 has been picked up by USPS today and the Dyna bass is somewhere over
the Atlantic.
All going well the Dyna will get to me for the 10th and the T 45 around the 17th.
Just that Super Ferrite to source now.

Just scored this Fury today for $50 . I think I have a number already, but it's good to have another Peavey. This is just like my first bass I got back in '89.
I'm new and I want in, here are my two Peaveys. The 1979 T-40 has been with me since 1998 and is what I learned to play on. The Fury is a parts bass with a super slim 1991 Fury neck and a T-Series bridge installed and I've had it for about three years. I tried showing it off in a post yesterday but nobody cared. Are numbers issued to members?
I'm no luthier, but installing that bridge was no easy feat, because of the area I routed into the body to accommodate the part of the bridge that is countersunk into the body and drilling for string ferrules on the backside. Lots of careful measuring, planning and practice on wood slabs so that the bridge placement and squareness was just right. Once I made the cuts I knew that there was no turning back, I'm happy with the results. The back of the bridge looks like this:

Pictures of local high school's Foundation(blue-green metallic) and my early 90's Foundation(white). Multiple posts, many pics. Start with the "abused" high school Foundation as-received. Dirty, knob fallen off, someone taped a large note on the front of the bass during the year and the tape remains on the face, crack below the nut has not changed, and a few more scratches and dents. Here we go.
