My '95 tuxedo Fury just got an all-white room-mate, likely same year. The black one has an EMG GZR pickup and a Raven Labs preamp in it with GHS Precision Flats and it sounds and plays really well: really, really well! I *love* the neck on that bass. The white one came in a very odd state: with some pitting corrosion on the hardware yet so dehydrated that the fret ends were like razors. After 3 weeks in a super-hydrated case and an evening of filing, she's finally good to go. I think I'll keep nickel rounds on her and put in a Lindy Fralin P-pickup with white covers--or go black-white-black pickguard...hmmm...
On the white, I like the idea of bk/w/bk PG, black screws and knobs with white PU covers. Yin Yang.
I own 4 Patriots but could never warm up to the Red bass. It just looked too "cartoon". So I painted it. Used Duplicolor, sanded to red until the gloss was gone, primed, sanded. About 3 times, painted and lightly sanded between coats, 4 coats. Then clear and sanded about 3 coats. I think it came out pretty good. So like "jmlee" I now have a black and a white Peavey in addition to my Mohogany and Ash Patriots.

I'm in. I use a 1984 black Peavey Foundation for my main bass. I have a MIM Fender P bass I use to practice sometimes, but I use the Peavey on the gig. I would like to get another one when I find a good deal.
Just scored this closet classic. And I mean like it really did sit in a closet or under the bed for 30 years. Other that a couple of scratches on the back, this gem is 9.75 with the added bonus of a beautiful amber aging of the neck. I didn't get the case, but I have cases. Happy old bass man. 
Another cool aspect of this is I used to have one but the neck went twisty and I parted it out, but it was my favorite P/J ever. This has the really high quality "T" series hardware without the super wide neck and backbreaking weight. The pickups are Shaller. Also excellent, licenced DiMarzio clones. For my preferences, the best bass Peavey ever made, and I've owned several.

Actually there is enough space left under the saddles on this one to get the action dead low, so no issue there. It is already set up medium low, and I don't go too low because I like a little resistance for my fat Flintstone fingers. The neck is a little plumper than my former S that had a Geddy Lee thin neck. Makes me wonder if there were two separate runs and issues had to be resolved like neck stability and geometry.
Were this a Fender, I would have had to pay top dollar for this age and condition.
I had a Foundation 5 in nearly the same condition other than a few edge chips. The neck was perfect. I let it go to a good home, I'm good with A BEAD 4, it was a shame to waste on me in the corner most of the time.
Big Ole saddles on my T-20,Fury and Foundation S. Don't have action higher than 1.25mm on G or 1.5mm on E.
Grub screws on Foundation still have 2mm play left so could go stupid low. No filing been done.

Do you mean the first gen slant Fury Kodiak ? I had one and now that you mention it, I think mine had this same bridge. I don't remember any issues.
BTW the tuners you bought from me were from the gooched skinny Foundation neck. I am tickled to have this back. I'm noodling on it through my Nitrobass and 115 BXBW and it's tasty in all modes. Like you fellows on that side say, I'm chuffed !
On your old one, I changed the saddles to a smaller diameter set and it allowed me to dial back all that micro-tilt the Forum neck needs with the Foundation S body.
I figured the heel thickness was much less on the Forum neck than the original Foundation S neck, and that's what made it require all that tilt to work with the original trapezoidal shaped bridge with the fat saddles.
I have a Fury neck that I'm gonna put on it and see if the geometry is better, because it would be cool to use the correct stock saddles that belong on the original bridge.
