This is the worst looking excuse for a bass I've ever seen.
Stripped, the neck is splitting down the middle, the pickguard looks like it was cut with a dull exacto knife....and I could go on. All this could be yours for 200 bucks....

Did you know that bass is 35" scale Inkdork?
Think that's what poplar looks like with a clear coat.
Yeah, that bass is pretty rough.
The neck looks split in two and not usable.

I did after I brought it home. When I bought it though, I was kinda blinded by how darn pretty it is.... I pretty much looked to it appeared to be in good shape, and worried about the details later.

I'd been playing the Grind for a couple of year when I was asked how I found 35" scale.
My answer was " What 35" ?"
It really makes very little difference so I wouldn't sweat it. Truth I found bass uke much harder

I'm used to my ukes, and the bass uke is about the same size as my baritone - I'm comfortable with where the frets are, the size, etc, so I may have the opposite experience.@Inkdork

My Peavey G Bass is 35" scale and the rest are 34" but it seems not to be causing me problems.
I've not been playing long enough for it to screw up any existing skills (I don't have).

Also the Gbass action is so low it takes little effort to play.

I reckon it only becomes an issue stretching over 5 or 6 strings. Fret sizes are 1.6mm bigger on the first then get smaller as we play up the neck. Over the 1st -5th frets a 35" is 6mm longer reach than on 34". I don't have big hands and I've never found it a problem.

It is weird how such a small difference can have a different feel, and it really does. My Grind and Millennium are 35" scale and everything else is 34". I notice the difference but it's not bothersome after a couple minutes of playing. To me neck thickness, width and string spacing all are variables I notice more and need to adjust to when switching between basses. Everyone's different though.
Yeah I think your right, the poplar doesn't actually look half bad.
Few other things I noticed...
- missing truss rod cover
- mismatched tuners...one has the corner filed off to fit the headstock shape
- non original string tree
- missing knob
- not 100% sure about the bridge, the saddles look correct but the mounting screw positions look funny???
The body wood has a grey/blackish/dirty haze all over it, probably under the clear coat.
The bridge mounting screws should be three screws at back and two in front, this looks like five in back and none in front.
Not a Peavey neckplate.
Not even a brand and model name on the headstock...which is good because that is not a Peavey Fury anymore.

I saw that one, I wouldn't say it is the worst bass I've ever seen, but that's a $50 fury with cheaper aftermarket (ie left over from an upgraded squier) parts, no mictotilt access (generic neck plate), fender style bridge (squier probably), and obviously a refinish and separation beginning at the heel end of the net. Fifty bucks!

You can sometimes get a nice Fury for fifty bucks.
I'm not sure I would take that one for free....I need a nut cut for a Peavey neck right now, maybe the nut is good!
Nothing looked original on that thing. My guess is it was fodder for restoring some other peavey basses. I wonder what class of beginner bass pickup and cheap mini pots are inside that. Surely the 92 pickup and wire harness were also yanked. If the electronics were original there would be some hope, @sirsam22 has a bridge available if anyone gets that and wants to restore it. Lots of out of mind prices right now. My Craigslist just revealed some.nice ones, but all way overpriced. $300+ for a patriot, $250 for a sunburst pinstripe fury, and someone selling a predator guitar and a 94ish black neck fury, both with cases for $650.doesn't look like the original graphlon nut!!!
I would probably pay $200 for that fury with the case if I had the money, but I am feeling this seller is looking for $300+ 94 is on my hit list, and the black neck would be cool.

Also a post 96 foundation 5 is floating around for $250. A bit rich for my blood for a one piece neck, though it is the perfect companion for my similar vintage 4. I would like a 5 with VFLs and 2 PC maple neck if they exist, I guess it would be a transition period.
@Inkdork check this out if you want something with 34" scale and a really slim.and easy to play neck. They could probably be talked down to $200.

I'm honestly not bothered by mine being 35", and I kinda have a ukulele bass I've been wanting due to arrive on Thursday... Which I'm already going to be making a few payments on.
