Warning...there's a Patriot neck for sale on epay at a good price...too good, maybe. There's a 1/4" drive socket in the truss rod cavity. Leads me to think the end of the rod is gone. Seen one before. I've sent a note to the seller asking for a pic without the socket and asked them to scrap it if the TR is broken.

I'm not touching mine until I get a Gibson wrench or something from stewmac. And both of mine I just want to loosen the rod a tad for more relief. Looks like it was just too tight a fit and got wedged in there. But I also would suspect whoever did that also gave it a solid 10 turns and SNAP.

My '84 is here! Super clean condition, plays and sounds amazing. It's about 10 pounds, but the quality of it outshines the heft. It has the molded ABS/aluminum case with the embossed Peavey logo. I'm psyched!
The neck PU volume pot has been replaced, but that will only make swapping it with a push/pull easier. I want to do the series/parallel mod to it.

Well, I finally have a 4 string T-40 I like to play. The original P type neck never fit my hand for 4 strings. This is a parts bass and I fit a Milestone III 20 fret rosewood neck with a 1 1/2" topnut to it. I used the Milestone III neck since it already had holes for large tuners. Put Titan tuners, pin stripping, a T-40 TR cover, string tree and there it is folks. Strung BEAD.

I don't know where to post this and I hope you'll forgive me. It's a new import Milestone natural that showed up a little while back at a very good price. I've avoided imports but I set up a sunburst J/J like this for a friends grandson last fall and after some tweaking liked the way it played and sounded. Like most Peavey's it was better than the price said it was but it needed work on fret sprout, solder joint touch up and all the other setup stuff.

This one has a solid ash body and came with chrome hardware and a maple neck. I've changed the hardware to black and put a 20 fret late model Fury rosewood neck on it. (I can't leave anything alone.) Series wired the pickups with the T-40 type tap. Controls are Vol, center detent Tap/Mid cut and passive High. Took the pickups apart and shielded them and grounded the poles. Shielded the control pocket and it's as quiet as a church mouse. Good player and it sounds good, too. Very flexible the way it's wired. Peavey needs to re-tool the "P" knobs.

NBD again already, that's two Fury's in a week!
Came across this 1990 Fury locally and it's in pretty good shape so I grabbed it.
It had only one half of the pickup in it, so I'm gonna need to get a pickup ..but that's fine.
I am usually not a fan of some blue bass colors but I like this one.
Trying to figure out what color pickguard would look good with this blue. ....?
It's got one good ding on the body and a few scratches but only a few.
The back of the neck has a little ding too but not much of one.
1990 was a really nice neck year, the finish is very good.
Grover Titan tuners are nice too.
Truss rod has the 5/16" brass nut, I like that version better than the 5/32" allen barrel nut.
Bridge looks clean as a whistle, no corrosion.
This bass was filthy when I got it, all clean now so it's time for a pickup, strings, and a set up.

Love that blue. Great score and I can't believe there's no rust on the saddle height screws. That's just about unheard of.

It looks a lot like the color of a GTO Muscle Car a guy I know used to have.
This is another bass that seemed neglected, dirty and forgotten.
I think the pickup died of old age.
The young guy I bought it from, said he was a teen when his Dad bought it new, and it never got played, this young man plays guitar.

If you're looking for pickguard suggestions, I would go Black/white/black 3 ply.

That's exactly the version Fury I'm looking for...very envious.

Shipping was low for me but I wasn't interested, just sharing, that was the one I posted earlier about the headstock/logo combo. It didn't get any bids at $140 because it was thrashed. $100 got some bids, think it went for $122. Did it go to anyone here?

That's a nice one, looks like my 91 but um, blue. I would love one in that color eventually. I bet some of the guys on here have 5wire pickups for sale if you want to keep it original.

Personally, id just keep the original pickguard on, but that's me, everyone on talkbass seems to hate white pickguards.

Thankfully it turns out I like the way it sounds. It would have been an expensive display piece!

What model is that? How far down were you able to haggle it? Good inspiration to learn on for sure.

Is that a USA made cirrus? That was near top of the line for peavey. How much did you end up haggling it down to?

Um.... It's the Grind BXP, which if whoever I briefly discussed it with before was right said it's not American made. I paid $175 for it - which was about what they were selling for on ebay when I checked.
