I have both the slant PUP Fury and the Patriot. The Fury PUP I have read somewhere is wound differently. Similar sound but the Fury might have a bit more volume and bark. I have Chromes on the Fury and Fender Medium flats on the Patriot. I love em both. I don't believe I could sell either one.

Figured they would sound the same as each other with the same pickup...
I am curious how they stack up to Patriots, SF Foundations and split P Furys.
I have recently been told the magnets are like the ones for the T-40, it is definitely a bigger pickup than the Patriot and Foundation pickups...so more volume makes sense and more thumpy fundamental.
Do you have a Foundation or split P Fury to compare to?

I don't have any Foundations or Split P Furies, but I will try and pull out one of my Patriots in the next day or so and do a little comparing with the T20 and Slant-PUP Fury. Here's the extent of my USA-made Peavey collection so far:
Yep, I have a Super Ferrite Foundation and a split P Fury. The Foundation is also wearing chromes but the Fury has a set of pretty dead roundwounds. I could set up a comparison probably, maybe do a video. Let me see what I can pull together.
I could have posted a pic of my 91 Peavey Dyna Bass (LUCY) sitting next to my Rickenbacker 4003, but Ricky and Lucy might have sounded a bit too much like an episode of I Love Lucy
So not cheap then. One thing I meant to put in my last post Tom on your 1st Gen Fury & Patriot both have a single SF pickup with the placement not to far from each other, is there a noticeable difference in sound between the 2 of them?
I'm probably not the best to answer re: sound differences. Obviously, the two pickups (each wound differently) will produce a greater variation than the single pickup in the Fury or Patriot (also wound differently). None are better than the others, but each has their own sound. Certainly each bass has it's own 'feel' which is what interests me.

It's only about an hour away from me but I already have one. Mine is a later model, same color but with gold hardware and it doesn't have Super Ferrites. I am going to be a good boy and let this one pass though.
That is a nice Dyna bass in UK money around £128.54, I paid more than than for each of my Foundations. Someone is going to get a steal of a bargain.
If I was anywhere in the USA it would be mine...alas it's a long swim over the pond loll The black Dyna 4 with the super ferrites would make a nice companion to my red second model 91 Dyna 5 with its flat top humbuckers. Too expensive to ship to Oz...darn.
You are right, I would consider paying the $50 shipping even at that price....if only I hadn't bought another bass last week.
That Dyna is killing me, but I need another 4 string, J type active bass like a hole in the head. I just got a 94 Forum Plus (in green, my favorite color, none the less) and I really like it and it filled the P/J hole in my toolbox. If the bass gods were fully in my favor, it would have been a Foundation S/Foundation S Active in black and It would be in a box on the way to my house.
When I got my 4 string Forum I put a set of T.I. flats on it. It sounded good but somehow not very inspiring. Today I dug around in my string stash and came up with a new set of DR Sunbeams and put those on the Forum. Oh my! What a great combination that is. This is a very muscular sounding bass and I hope to take it to a blues/rock jam session Sunday and see how it sounds in the mix. I'm betting it will just kill. It has a really nice neck on it too.
