U.S. Peavey Club

Hey guys,
I'm keeping positive. It's been at one year wait to build up the funds for my first 6er, and I guess its only a matter of time now! (I'm 17 so money making comes after school).

I'd like to ask this without me labeled a BETRAYER, but are there any other similar options to the Cirrus bass (not resticted to the brand name Peavey). Esp the ersion with the mid sweep.

Count me in! I currently have a US Millennium 5 plus, B-Quad 4 and my trusty old TKO-80! I never use the combo anymore, but I keep it because it was the first amp I ever owned, and my dad bought it for me. He has since passed on, so I'll likely keep it forever! I've had a ton of Peavey gear over the years, and never had a single piece fail me. Good stuff!

Yeah man, in this day of manufacturing prowess there are quite a few nice offerings for a 6er- or anything else for that matter. I don't want to take this OT though- so I'll talk to you. Now mind you, Peavey did a model called a TL-6 that was made for a guy named Tim Landry (I think that was the last name), and it was a nice axe. Some of the stuff Peavey no longer makes is no less excellent (like my Dyna-Bass Unity or the Sarzo model). Anyway, I'll PM you.

Tim Landers, and he played some great bass back in the 1980s and 1990s. I know he did some stuff for Al DiMeola where he completely nailed that Anthony Jackson pick tone.:eek:

How's the fiver with the Super Ferrites? It looks like they just used the same pickups as the 4 stringer. I know they are bar magnets, not poles, but I was curious as to how the string sound balances. How deep is the B? How's the tension on the B? I know where there's a bass similar to yours for a decent price, but I'd like to have some more info before checking it out.

On my old Dyna-Bass, the "G" string was quieter than the other 4 strings because of the improper sizing of the Super-Ferrite pickups. Not too bad, but noticable. The "B" didn't seem to be affected.

Tim Landers was also the bassist in Steve Smith's first Vital Information band and also played on the band's first recording. I was blessed with the pleasure of seeing that band in concert back in the day. AWESOME CONCERT!!! Tim also grooved with Billy Cobham. Another underrated bassist!

I really need to take some newer pictures of my bass. It has new strings on it and it's been cleaned up a little bit.
