Just won a tiger eye Peavey Cirrus 6 on the bay!
Can't wait till it arrives from Germany.

Getting pissed off at this is a also little silly since you didn't build the bass! Don't take it personally.

For my own part, the Peaveys I've owned have been fine basses; and I'll admit that since they weren't Fenders or Rickies, and I was once young and stupid, it took me a while to get hip to Peavey. But now that I am, I am sold on the ones I like. My present Dyna Unity is really a great bass, with a unique and musical "personality".

I'm not pissed off, but it is a lie. Frets don't slide out if they are seated at the music store. It just doesn't happen. Considering that the person that brought a bass with loose frets home also said that he thinks it's the manufacturer's fault that an amplifier pushed way past the built-in limiter sounds like hell, I concluded that they are stupid. Just seems like good logic to me.

I've played thousands of brand new Peavey instruments, guitars and basses. Literally, I've played just about every model bass that was made from ~1983 -1990, as I hung out at the Peavey dealer all through junior high and high school.

I realize that I, too, should have let it go, but somebody that goes out of their way to post something so blatantly ignorant, uninformed, or outright false in a Peavey thread deserves to be flamed.

I'm in serious need of advice.
I have already showed you the Peavey Cirrus I won on Ebay.
The seller is now telling me he can no longer sell as he sold it elsewhere through a shop.
I spoke to him the day before bidding ended and there was no mention of this.
What steps should I take, I'm not expecting to get the bass but is there anythign besides giving him negative feedback that I can do?

Tom I am sorry to hear about your bass.I would suggest you contact the E Bay resolution center and report this scumbag.There you will be able to file your grievence and let them pursue the matter of investigation.Not that it helps,but I think most people including me have run into this kind of crap before on E Bay.I hope this will lead you in the right direction.Good luck Joe:scowl:

Do you mind me keeping my number Joe? My next bass is surely going to be a Peavey Cirrus 6.....so if anyone knows of any floating about send me the link. The only thing, and i know this is shallow, is I dont like the cheap looking plastic nobs (I hope thats how you spell it) on some models of the Cirrus bass. I'd like to avoid these. Thanks.

Already done that.
Just extremely annoyed as I wasl ooking for this bass exactly.
Finish and all. But the biggest problem is that is was in Germany and as I'm in Europe the shipping meant this particular bass was in my price range.

You win some, you lose some I guess.

Hope it wont be too long till another tiger eye Cirrus 6 comes up somewhere. Are these a frequent sighting or?

Tom,don't worry about your number it is and will be safe and secure.The knobs on the Cirrus basses are actually rubber,not plastic. I just replaced mine with gold dome knobs and they look fantastic.You might want to go to allparts.com for the knobs,if you want the heavy metal one. They have them in silver,black and gold.They don't carry them,but wood knobs are also an option depending on your personal taste.Let me know how all works out for you. Joe:)
