From the pickups I'd say so. Get the S/N and take a look at www.peaveyt60.com and you'll find a S/N dating page. There's also wiring diagrams and other useful info.

You are the fine example of effectively frugal! Nothing says bang for buck like Peavey, and that's not cheaping out either. Good gear.

I also have a Peavey 215 cab, that I modded from an RBS-1 Band-Pass box (subwoofer) to a front-firing 215. It needs a little help still- like speakers with more excursion (have 1502s, need 1505s I guess), and a better 'finish' to the work. But it's here:

I use it for bigger rooms, or outdoors with an Avatar 210 NEO.

IIRC, I thought it was kind of diminutive- the four anyway. But I haven't picke one up in quite a while. I prefer the old Foundation- but it's a bolt-on. Maybe you want a neck-thru, and maybe you dig the small lightweight thing.

But just curiously, have you looked around on ebay, etc for one of the old TL-5s? Myself, I'd like to find a Sarzo...

Wow...my very first bass when I was 12 was a brand new Peavey Fury (circa 1986) and the frets started sliding out pretty much the day I brought it home. I also had a 65 watt Peavey amp that had a built-in limiter circuit you couldn't bypass and made everything that was loud enough sound like pure unadulterated hell.

I've learned something from this thread: if people no longer hate Peavey, I guess they've stepped up their game and I'm really glad to hear that. Also, they've changed that horrible old logo of theirs that used to be prominently stamped on everything, and that's a huge step in the right direction.

My first amp was a TKO65 and I must agree about your appraisal of its tone.

I've also had a fretless Patriot, and 3 Cirrus basses--two fretless 5s and a fretted 6. Currently no Peaveys in the stable but I did play a sweet white T-20 recently that got me wanting one. Older American Peaveys are a great value!

Probably shouldn't store the bass in the pool. My Fury's a tank. Stupid lies like the above by people who hate Peavey are the reason some other people hate Peavey. "Stepped up their game"? Peavey has been kicking the crap out of most of the industry on build quality for 30 years.

Anyway, count me in. '85 Fury and '87 Foundation S. Frets fully intact.
