U.S. Peavey Club

I was thinking about picking up a USA Peavey from Ebay or elsewhere but wasn't sure about which models were the best. Which ones have the best neck and sound, other than the T-40's. Those weigh a ton! 
I would easily say the best is the Cirrus by far,also you can't go wrong with a U.S.Millenium Plus.They are very well made like the Cirrus and have great electronics,including the sweepable mids for a very wide tonal pallette.Good luck in your search.You would probobly have a better chance at the Cirrus on E Bay,But I have seen some U.S. Milleniums also,but they seem to be much more scarce as of late.Hope this helps you a bit. Don't forget the Peavey USA G-Bass (w Carbon Fiber neck, 3-band active and VERY light weight). Oh, there is a mint one for sale with OHSC in the classifieds!

Yup. Nice bass!Daaayum, that six string makes me drool, it's pretty much the prettiest vintage-styled sixer I've ever seen, is that an Axellerator? ;
I currently play USA Peaveys exclusively. Millennium, Millennium Plus, G-Bass, Foundation, Dyna Unity, Cirrus-4, Cirrus-5. I'm thinking of parting with all but the two Cirrus's. They're getting all the attention...
'89 Peavey Dyna-Bass Unity:
I'm new here and so far lovin it! I have this exact bass in midnight blue and it was the first bass I ever owned. I was told mine was a 1987 and that they only made 600 in this color? can anyone tell me what kind of preamp and pickups are running through this thing, and what it's worth? It's by far one of the best basses I've ever played.

I believe the electronics are the same as the bolt-on Dyna-Bass, all Peavey-designed and manufactured. I didn't know the color was that rare- but I remember seeing one back in '83 or so and wishing I could afford it! I got this one from a guy on the H-C website this year ('07) for $300, which, as far as I'd been able to discover, was right around the going price.
Hang onto yours, and it'll surely raise in value. I "chopped" mine after I got it, so it's not really going to get the same price as a stock, un-modded one.
I dig mine too, but I do wish it wasn't neck-heavy. Part of the chop I did was a metal strap hanger set and bolted into the back of the neck-body joit, so I could get the bass into a more vertical position (trying to avoid more wrist trouble). I also moved the rear strap-button to the back of the body- closer to the neck- and added a thumbrest sitting from the butt of the fingerboard to the P-p'up (the thumbrest has been stained to a darker semblance of black since taking this photo). Now, post-mod, I dig it more- it's that much more playable!

Can I join? I'm new here and pretty much new back into playing bass again after a good decade of not playing. I recently got an older but mint ('cept for loose trussrod) Peavey Foundation 4string thats flame engine red. And I'm positively beside myself trying to replace the T40 I had back in the early 80s. I am beginning to think the T40 I had then was a freak? It had 24 frets. I distinctly remember that..and I can't find ANY T40 around with 24 frets 
Last year when I was thinking of getting back into it I remember I had an nice blue Peavey 5 string on layaway (Ive always wanted to try a 5 string), I think it was a Millennium. I chose it over some Deans and some Ibenezes (sp) that were on the wall with it. But then I saw a friends Brownsville Bat and that was it for that Peavey unfortunately (though if I could have I'd have gotten them both. The neck on that Peavey was so sweet).
I am looking at another fire engine red Foundation right now online for sale thats a 5-string. I think they would be kind of neat, having 2 foundations the exact same color but one a 4 string and the other a 5 string. I am also considering a 20 fret T40 online for sale right now as well. I have pretty much given up on trying to find a 24 fret T40 to replace the one I had then.
