Well, I am happy it has a maple fingerboard because that keeps me from doing something stupid. I already know the Millennium 5 and I are not a good fit. Odd...the 4 feels great in my hands and I got my 4 Millennium Plus for less than that and it has a Pau Ferro fingerboard.
Again, a fine USA made Peavey 5 with terrific electronics for less than a MIM Fender passive bass.
I won't lie - I had it in my cart. I've decided to hold our for a Milly 5+ with birdseye neck. If you find one - let me know

Very pretty but it is a 4 string with a maple fingerboard. You'll have to buy that one richntiff!

While I understand the quite well, I am single and only have myself and God to answer to. I keep trying to reduce my collection of equipment but and not doing too good at it.
I'm not either - but I've already reconciled myself to the fact that I will be selling at least 2 of the following :
My red flamed maple US Milly 5
My natural finish T-20 factory fretless
My Black/maple US Foundation 5
My Ibanez SRH-505

has anyone ever put a varitone on both pickups? or would a push pull tone knob that switches it from single to humbucker with full tone control work better?
maybe replace the phase switch with two coil tap mini switches?

I did a virtual T45 with an old Ibanez RB I love. Instead of the spin a split, a push/pull pot was used on the tone control. It's an easy way to get single or humbucking tones with full tone control range. Doesn't require any extra drilling or modification, either.
I need to do this mod to one of my T-40s! I don't find the humbuckers usable (tonewise and for my tastes) which is very odd, as I've always said "I'm a humbucker man". A full tone control for each humbucker might do the trick.
Not sure what you mean exactly.....these era of Foundation need literally nothing changed imo.
Is it corroded?
Yes, I noticed some pitting on the barrels of the bridge
If the saddle height Allen screws aren't corroded to the point they don't function, I'd leave the bridge. That's normal 35 year corrosion.
If you replace, you'll probably have to plug holes and redrill to mount another brand bridge.
Just remove the saddles and give them a steel woolin' and a polish. They will be just fine.
