Thank you. The original finish was the very light natural that just looked way too plain to me. So I stripped it and matched to my old faithful Palaedium!

How is that offset strapholder button working for you?
It must be good, since you’ve done both basses that way?
Every bass I’ve owned for the past 20 years has had the extra button. It began after getting my first Status Graphite bass that had two, which allowed two different angles for how the bass hangs, but it also works in a pinch if you need to lean the bass against something if you don’t have a stand.
I prefer having the bass hanging almost straight across my body, so I need the lower strap button to play comfortably.
Kind of the anti-Bill Wyman.
Those basses are cool looking, relic'd in a way like they were built of reclaimed wood! I'm not familiar with the Palaedium model, what's the black piece between the pickups?
They're called ramps, and they're not standard on the model. They keep your fingers from going too far "through" the strings when you strike, so that you have a faster, more consistent attack. If you dig in a lot, they're not great; but it can be really helpful if you're trying to play very fast lines. It's almost like playing "over the pickup" anywhere between the pickups.
Managed to find G tuner,for the T20 just received couple days ago. Was hesitant about getting the bass without G tuner missing the gears. Fortunately found a direct replacement tuner for the T20. If you notice picture of head stock without the tuner shaft,and the other pictures,with the replacement I managed to find.
I still have the tuner without the gear,if anyone,has a need for one? It has the gear,just needs the spilt shaft for the string wrap.

Nope.
T40's have Schaller tuners, different style than the T-20 got. No screws and the gear is flat on the open side.
Ok,Thanks,didn't know for sure,it was what the previous owner told me,when I got the tuner from him. I will edit the post.

So I’ve had my Palaedium for about a week and it is awesome! I’m lucky to get 30 minutes a day to play, so I haven’t had a chance to post pics (I can’t bring myself to talk time from playing to snap pics!)...but I will! Aside from a few nicks here and there, it’s in great shape! The one little thing that needs attention is the strap button on the upper horn...it spins around and around. I’ve seen the toothpick and glue fix online. Is that the best way to go? Any thoughts or links to methods that work? Thanks a bunch!
So glad you're happy. How's the BMW ? Sweet car, too. I use Elmer's glue and Dunlop strap locks. That's just because I prefer them and have all my straps set up for that. Also, the screws are very long and thick, so they really stay put. Add some glue and you'll be set for life.

Do happen know the outer diameter of the bushings on those Schaller tuners or the diameter of the headstock holes for that style tuner ?
Toothpicks and glue work so well that you should probably think about the permanence of the fix and your strap button situation beforehand.
If you just want to tighten up the screw, but will have to fix this again in the future, just jam some toothpicks in there.
If you want to have a more sturdy fix, put some glue on the toothpicks, insert, let them dry, then screw in the strap button.
Both of these methods will allow you to change the buttons, as the fix is not Superman strong.
However, if you want to pretty much set that screw for good, get the toothpicks wet with glue, stick them in there and then screw in the button while the glue is still wet. Once the glue dries, those screws are set in there as the glue then surrounds the threads and really locks in. I have seen these screws try to be backed out, and the screw heads twist off, while the threaded part stays put in the hole. This method is pretty much foolproof.
If you are happy with the current buttons, go for it. I put Schallers on all my instruments, and they all get a little glue (and toothpicks as necessary) to insure and snug and secure button. I have instruments that I secured in this way over 20 years ago, when I was a very young man that jumped around a lot. None of those buttons have become loose since!
I took my Palaedium to band rehearsal last Saturday. Besides being amazed at the variety of really great and different tones i was getting from it, I really enjoyed the way it felt “planted”. I tend to play my basses at about a 45 degree angle,and the PV just seemed to make entire fretboard access pretty effortless.Every bass I’ve owned for the past 20 years has had the extra button. (Well,that lovely 21st fret on the g string is a bit blocked, it could do with just a bit more routing on the lower horn.)

The car has been great! I’ve been slowly getting accustomed to its features, driving characteristics, etc.
It’s a bit like driving an ipad, lots of electronic interface features. About the longest distance I drive is a 50 mile roundtrip once a week for band rehearsal.
With the rear seats down,a bass case fits nicely in the back,with plenty of room for my Markbass 1-12 combo and extension 112 cab.
